When UniCredit’s ‘Action for COVID 19’ fundraiser closed at the end of March, many colleagues contacted the Foundation asking if they could still donate. Thanks to their generosity, a further €43,000 has been donated to hospitals in Italy
In March, UniCredit launched a Group-wide employee fundraising initiative to raise money for three the Italian hospitals most involved in the battle against Covid-19. In just two weeks, more than 3,000 employee donations helped to raise over €1.2 million, of which €1 million was contributed by the UniCredit Foundation.
After the campaign closed, several colleagues contacted the Foundation to apologise for missing the closing date and asked if they could still donate. In total, a further €43,000 was raised, demonstrating their willingness to show solidarity towards those who are in the front line in the fight against Covid-19.
The additional funds were split as follows:
- Ospedale L. Sacco di Milano €17,780
- Policlinico San Matteo di Pavia €17,795
- Istituto L. Spallanzani di Roma €7,780
